What is a zine?
A zine is a non-official publication of fics and art surrounding a certain fandom, ship, and/or theme. This varies from a Big Bang, because submissions are compiled into either a PDF or a physical book and because there is (in most cases) money involved going toward charity or toward the contributors.
How will mods communicate with contributors?
It will be a requirement to join our Discord server!
How will contributors be compensated?
Contributors will not be compensated for this, as this is a free pdf only zine! We hope this does not discourage you from applying!
Is this SFW or NSFW?
This is SFW.
Will there be ships featured? What ships will be allowed in the zine?
Rantaro ships should not be the main focus, but they can be implied.
Will pre-game and post-game content be allowed?
Yes! Please notify the mods if your piece will include this content!
What are the requirements for applying? How should we prepare our portfolio?

Will minors be allowed to participate in this zine?
Yes! As this is a SFW zine and no monetary costs are involved, minors may apply. However, we ask that applicants be 13+ due to Twitter and Discord’s TOS.
Can contributors apply for more than one position?
Yes, but in order to ensure fairness, we will only accept people for one position.
Will mods be contributing?
Yes, but they will not be taking away contributor spots.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES
Everything must be viewable, applications will be dismissed if things are not public/accessible. Please reach out to a mod if you need assistance!
No NSFW samples or in portfolio. Failure to comply will lead to automatic disqualification.
3 samples that best showcase style
At least one Danganronpa piece is required. Rantaro pieces are not required but will be helpful as it shows us how you portray him.
For writers, your samples must be 1-3k in length.
Characterization and style will be judged
Excerpts allowed, but one piece must be a full-length story as we are judging based on your ability to tell a story in a limited word count.
Twitter threads are not acceptable as samples.
Samples should be submitted in the form of an Archive of Our Own or Google Docs link.
For artists, composition, anatomy, and color palette will be judged.
We are looking for full-body pieces with semi-detailed backgrounds
Please do not share direct Tumblr and Twitter accounts because they are often cluttered with personal posts. Instead, submit a specific tag or moment that showcases your work
SPECS
A Free, PDF-only, SFW, No Merch.
20-23 Artists with 10-12 Writers + guests, though this may change based on application count
Pieces may include other characters and ships may be implied, but Rantaro must be the main focus. Spoilers are allowed but please notify the mods beforehand so that we can format the zine properly.
Writers: Fics must be within the 1.5k-3k word limit, with a 100 word leeway if needed. Mod Kei will beta-read fics upon submission
Artists: Pieces must be in RGB at 300 DPI/PPI at 8.5x11. Backgrounds are required, though they may be as simple or as complex as you would like.
